a gap in the market

a gap in the market

A new plein air drawing project, exploring Salisbury Charter Market throughout the year 2020 / 21.  Revisiting a subject of my work when I was an art student 40 years ago. Trying to capture the life and activity, the noise and bustle, the randomness of shape, colour and changing light of this historical meeting place in all seasons.

The drawings are all made using mixed media (pen, oil pastel, watercolour, ink and stick, oil base pencils) on Full Imperial (76 x 56cm) HP watercolour paper.

Below each drawing are my observations, written at the time of drawing.

They will be exhibited at Fisherton Mill, Salisbury from August- September 2020.
